The annual SEPA EAC conference is an opportunity for EAC members and other municipal officials to: learn about timely environmental topics, network with other
EACs, and meet local and state government officials. It also is an opportunity for those interested to learn more about the role and activities of EACs.

9:30-10:15 Plenary Session: Pennsylvania's Key Role in Climate Change
In June 2007 the Pennsylvania Environmental Council released its "Climate Change Roadmap for Pennsylvania." The Roadmap, developed with the help of academic, agriculture, capital investment, energy generation, environmental, and government stakeholders, presents a series of policy and action item recommendations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Pennsylvania.

Breakout Session #1A - Putting the GreenBACK to work for Sustainable Communities
Energy efficient mortgages, incentives for environmentally friendly construction, and green financing trends - this session features real tools, examples of success, and innovative ideas to promote sustainable revitalization projects. Our featured speaker is Peter Krajsa, President of AFC First Financial Corp. - a national leader in energy efficient lending.
Breakout Session #1B - Ecological Restoration and NIMBY - Nature In My Back Yard!
Find out how climate change already affects ecological restoration projects. Natural Lands Trust will provide an overview of this fascinating topic, followed by a co-presentation from our co-sponsor, RETTEW, about a riparian buffer project devised with the intention for carbon sequestration.

12:00-12:30 Special Session: GIS, Online Mapping and ERI resources
The ability to map and document municipal natural areas and resources is a powerful preservation and strategizing tool. Chris Pollard, GIS Application Specialist from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, will share an interactive presentation
with tips for experts and beginners alike. You will not leave this session without learning something new about the free mapping resources available to all EACs.

Breakout Session #2A - If You Build It, More Will Come....
There is something here for everyone - an overview of the ENERGY STAR and LEED programs, highlights from the "Cost of Green Revisited" report, and an interactive presentation on how to conduct a building energy audit.
Breakout Session #2B - Refreshing News about Renewable Energy
The changing climate isn't the only hot topic these days! Energy from solar, wind, and biofuels is becoming a more central topic of our generation's energy conversation. This session will explore what's happening in Pennsylvania's alternative energy industry.

2:45-3:30 The Wrap Up Session
Join us for this a post lunch EAC conference tradition! We will share
and discuss what ideas people will bring back to their communities.
