Brad Clemenson, Senior Project Manager

Brad Clemenson is Senior Project Manager for the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, a state-wide non-profit.  He works primarily on sustainable community and resource-based tourism initiatives, specifically as lead external partner for a called the Laurel Highlands Conservation Landscape Initiative and as coordinator for Lift Johhnstown.

 

Mr. Clemenson previously worked for Pennsylvania Congressman John Murtha as District Director, and prior to that, as Communications Director.  In the Congressional office, he worked extensively on watershed, tourism, trail, recreation, and environmental projects.

 

He serves on the boards of the Allegheny Trail Alliance, the Conemaugh Valley Conservancy, Appalachian Coal Country Watershed Team, and Johnstown Area Heritage Association.  He previously served on the boards of the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, the Pennsylvania Organization for Watersheds and Rivers, and the Stonycreek-Conemaugh River Improvement Project.  He has received awards from the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts, Trout Unlimited, Penn’s Corner RC&D, and Southern Alleghenies Conservancy, primarily for his support of watershed initiatives.

 

Clemenson has a bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, and a master’s degree in communications and government from American University in Washington, DC.  He enjoys riding the area’s rail-trails, kayaking, hiking, and has a special interest in the region’s history.  He is married and has a daughter.
