Cindy Ferguson, Director of Operations
Cindy Ferguson joined the PEC staff April, 2010 in the new position, Director of Operations, for the Southeast Regional Office. Her path to PEC started many years ago with a deeply held commitment to the protection of the environment and the wildlife that depends on it. This commitment has guided her charitable giving and how she spends her personal time—birding, hiking and nature photography. Cindy received her B.A. in French from Rider University and she is a 1997 graduate of Leadership Philadelphia and a 2009 Fellow of Bryn Mawr College’s Non-Profit Executive Leadership Institute. Prior to coming to PEC, Cindy had worked more than 20 years at the senior and executive levels in the Philadelphia non-profit education/social service sector, including as Executive Director of Community Women’s Education Project and as Director of Project H.O.M.E.’s Honickman Learning Center Comcast Technology Labs. During this time she also served as a Commissioner, Mayor’s Commission on Literacy and on the Boards of Women’s Way, the Eastern Philadelphia Organizing Project and the Community Partnership School. In making the career change that brought her to PEC, Cindy decided to “take the road untaken” in order to marry avocation with vocation and redirect her professional skills to help advance a strong conservation agenda.
