Bensalem East Coast Greenway Trail Master Plan
For a few years now, the Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) has been supporting Bensalem Township’s efforts to implement its Greenway Plan, completed in 2008; with a specific focus of completing its Delaware Riverfront segment – the proposed East Coast Greenway segment that would parallel State Road and the Delaware River.
In 2010, the Council helped the Township secure a Transportation & Community Development Initiative grant from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) for completing a property search along the corridor, an engineering and environmental feasibility analysis, and a master plan for trail implementation. In 2011 and 2012, the Council will assist the Township in selecting an Engineering Consulting Team to complete the scope of the TCDI grant; and will act as the project manager of the consultant of these efforts, providing additional technical assistance as well.
