Greenways and Trails come in many different forms. They can be urban, rural, paved or grassy. Greenways are often corridors of protected open space managed for habitat, conservation and recreation purposes and typically follow natural land or water features. Trails are paths used for walking, bicycling, horseback riding and other forms of recreation or transportation. Regardless, greenways and trails connect neighborhoods, businesses, schools, libraries, shopping areas, parks, cultural areas and historic sites to the benefit of our communities.

Did you know that since 2008, thousands of Luzerne County residents of all ages and abilities have gotten outside and active at close-to-home parks, trails and events using the Keystone Active Zone Passport program?
