Keep the Rain Out of the Drain! A workshop for disconnecting downspouts in your community

This free workshop will teach participants how to disconnect a downspout, install a rain barrel or rain garden, and create a disconnection program for your community.

8:00 - 9:30 a.m. 

Come to one of the Downspout Disconnection Workshops to learn how to:

  • Conduct a proper site evaluation;
  • Disconnect a downspout;
  • Install a rain garden and rain barrel;
  • Create a municipal disconnection program for your community.

Workshops are being held around the county to offer technical guidance on creating a successful downspout disconnection program.

Code enforcement officers, public works employees, and engineers are encouraged to attend. This workshop is being offered by Penn State University for 1.5 CEUs (continuing education units) for landscape architects and professional engineers.
