A creative workship for 4-5th grade teachers in the Chester, Ridley, Crum and Darby watersheds.
A creative one day in-service workshop for 4th through 8th grade teachers and science curricula coordinators in the school districts of the Chester, Ridley, Crum, and Darby watersheds. This event will be hosted at Ridley Creek State Park on Tuesday, November 4th, 2008, from 8am-3pm. Participants will receive in-class instruction on hands-on activities correlated to the Pennsylvania Academic Standards for Environment and Ecology – Watersheds and Wetlands strand, time to network with watershed protection experts, an opportunity to conduct real tests in a local stream, Act 48 credit, and a notebook with accompanying cd with lesson plan templates and other resources. Registration is free and includes lunch.
This workshop is being jointly organized by the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, Chester-Ridley-Crum Watersheds Association, Darby Creek Valley Association, Delaware Valley Earth Force, and the Delaware County Intermediate Unit, Fairmount Waterworks Interpretive Center.
