Hannah Hardy, Director of Recreational Infrastructure

Hannah E. Hardy joined PEC in 2003 as the program manager for the Pennsylvania Water Trails Program.  PEC is partnered with the National Park Service, PA Department of Conservation & Natural Resources, PA Fish & Boat Commission and other state agencies to implement this statewide program, which is recognized nationally.  The goals of the program are to develop additional water trails in Pennsylvania and to build a cohesive statewide system of water trails.  Ms. Hardy travels around the Commonwealth providing technical assistance to local project managers.  

 

Also active is the development of land trails, Hannah is involved with the completion of the Great Allegheny Passage and the Erie to Pittsburgh Trail.  Hannah is involved in all stages of project development from long-range planning and fundraising to project management and implementation.  She also holds leadership positions in several regional land trail organizations including the Allegheny Trail Alliance, Regional Trail Corporation and Steel Valley Trail Council.  

 

Having spent time in both local government and several non-profit organizations prior to joining PEC, Ms. Hardy has a keen understanding of how to bring a variety of individuals and groups together to complete a project.  As a native of Pittsburgh’s Northside she has a deep love and appreciation of this City’s diverse neighborhoods and varied landscapes.  Hannah is married with two young boys.
