I am writing to support Senate Bill 266 and House Bill 110, which would require our state to develop, through a collaborative process, a Climate Change Assessment and Action Plan for Pennsylvania. Given that Pennsylvania is responsible for one percent (1%) of worldwide greenhouse gas emissions, it is important that we demonstrate leadership and take definitive action to reduce those emissions.
The Pennsylvania Environmental Council has released its Climate Change Roadmap for Pennsylvania, which identifies 38 different policy and action recommendations for reducing our overall carbon footprint. These recommendations can create jobs, increase business investment, and save energy consumers money.
As a concerned resident I urge you to support Senate Bill 266 and House Bill 110, and help maintain Pennsylvania's outstanding quality of life.
