PEC's Featured Artist

PEC continues its periodic musical feature with two songs from California-based Maia Sharp, whose song-writing skills and sensual voice are attracting wide attention.
As Billboard says, "Maia Sharp conjures the allure of yesteryear's Brill Building luminaries....Sharp wields her crisp, alluring choruses like a temptress; listeners will surely be ensnared. Her tear-soaked lyrics and high-cresting melody conspire for a finely crafted lesson on invincible pop."
Maia's new CD, titled "Echo," is available at her performances and will soon be available on her web site and her MySpace page. The CD was produced by Grammy-award-winning producer Don Was and features Bonnie Raitt on background vocals.
Please enjoy two songs from that new CD, The Edge, typical of her acoustic style, and John Q. Lonely, where she switches to keyboard with some searing lyrics (hey - on some songs she even breaks out her sax -- look out! she's a very talented multi-intrumentalists).
