Day-long kayak trips are ideal for beginners, families and small groups since all equipment, shuttle service and meals are included.

The trip is guided by National Canoe Safety Patrol members. The pace is leisurely with short distances and occasional stops. Extension options are available for more experienced kayakers who want to paddle longer distances.

Pre-register online at www.delawareriversojourn.org. A limited number of walk-ins may be accomodated on a first-come, first-serve basis each morning.

June 25th (8am – 3pm) features a kayak trip along scenic natural shorelines including Palmyra Cove Nature Park, Pennypack Park, Taylor Wildlife Preserve, and Amico Island.  The day includes a seining (net) activity where kayakers will see what sort of fish and shells can be found in the river, a lunchtime talk on local wildlife, and an evening program from the NJ American Indian Alliance (optional).

June 26th (8am-3pm) features a kayak trip through the heart of Philadelphia and Camden. This urban kayak experience provides spectacular views of the city skylines, and historic sites such as the Philadelphia Navy Yard, SS United States and Battleship New Jersey. The day includes a lunchtime stop in historic Gloucester City and a sojourn finale celebration at Wiggins Park Marina on the Camden Waterfront.

$70 per adult and $50 per child includes all equipment, lunch, guides and educational programming.

The Sojourn is a week-long paddling trip on the Delaware River. Its purpose is to heighten awareness of, and appreciation for, the ecological, historical, recreational, and economic significance of the Delaware River.

The Sojourn is for novice to experienced paddlers, or those who are simply curious about the outdoors; it combines canoeing/kayaking, camping, educational programs, historical interpretation, and more. Participants can sign up for the whole event or for the section or day(s) of their choice. Come and join us for the ultimate "staycation" as we celebrate 16 years of fun, family, friends, and the great outdoors!
