Better Stormwater Management Workshops

"Better Stormwater Management Through Site Design" workshops were provided for municipal officials to improve the character of future development.
Background: 

The Pennsylvania Environmental Council in cooperation with local county planning commissions, county conservation districts, watershed organizations and Cahill Associates, has hosted "Better Stormwater Management Through Site Design" workshops. These workshops have been targeted at municipal officials.

Funding for these workshops has been provided by state or private foundations. Past funding has been received from The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, National Park Service Chesapeake Bay Program, Lancaster County Conservation District, PA Capital Area Chapter of the Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers and the York County Community Foundation.

Project Goals: 
The goal of the course is to increase participants' level of understanding of essential stormwater management issues so that proposed land development projects can be thoroughly and effectively critiqued in the future.
Major milestones/successes to date: 
Workshops have been conducted in the following counties: York, Lancaster, Cumberland, Juniata, Montour, Luzerne, Lycoming, and Blair.
