Land Conservation Initiatives

PEC works with communities, landowners and land trusts to conserve properties along the thousands of miles of shoreline in Western Pennsylvania to protect water quality and maintain both natural and working landscapes.
Background: 

PEC has been instrumental in helping secure conservation easements in the French Creek, Sandy Lake, Shenango River, Connoquenessing Creek, Lake Erie, and Allegheny River watersheds.  In addition, PEC launched Sharing Stewardship -- an open resource website that helps land conservation organizations strengthen their stewardship practices -- in early 2006.
