Watershed Atlas of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers

The Watershed Atlas offers and on-line opportunity to explore the sub-basins of the Allegheny and Monongahela watersheds.
Background:

The Alleghenies Watershed Network updated its Watershed Atlas of the Allegheny River to include the Monongahela River watershed in 2001. The original scientific, historical and educational project, which focused on the Allegheny Watershed, was unveiled in 1999. With the addition of the Monongahela River Valley, the expanded resource now includes the Monongahela, Youghiogheny, Cheat, West Fork and Tygart watersheds.

To view the Atlas, offers a fun way to explore the sub-basins of these magnificent rivers, which drain most of western Pennsylvania as well as part of New York, a large portion of West Virginia and small part of Maryland.
