Celebration of Governor's Awards for Environmental Excellence

The Governor’s Awards for Environmental Excellence are awarded each year by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and highlight the best in environmental innovation and expertise throughout the Commonwealth. In 2008 the Pennsylvania Environmental Council will feature a presentation of all of the award winners at its gala 2008 Harrisburg Dinner.

For over two decades, PEC has demonstrated expertise at holding environmental awards events.  PEC dinners and award programs are signature events throughout the state that are attended by over 1,000 people annually.   In the past 10 years, PEC has awarded more than 100 environmental awards during events in Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Meadville, Wilkes Barre and Philadelphia.  Our staff has expertise with coordinating award presentations, managing publicity for award winners and creating meaningful public recognition events.

The Governor’s Awards for Environmental Excellence provide statewide recognition to organizations and this will be a unique event that draws a potential audience from all over the state involved in a cross-section of environmental initiatives from cleaning up watersheds, saving energy, eliminating pollution, reducing waste and more.

The event: 

At 5:00 – 6:30pm there will be a reception with a cash bar with a complimentary drink.  During the reception, award winners and sponsors will have booths for table top displays. 

At 6:30 pm there will be a brief welcome and introduction by Brian Hill, PEC President & CEO.  We will also provide an opportunity for a dinner chairperson to make remarks.  At this time there will be opportunity to introduce and welcome legislators and representatives from the administration.  At 7:30 pm the official award program begins. 

Registration:

On-line registration is available for the dinner. The deadline for registration is 4/15/07. The meal being served is roasted chicken with a salad, starch, and vegetable. If you have an special dietary requests, please include them in the box labeled "special instructions/comments" when you check out.
