The EAC Conference is an exciting place for EAC members, local elected officials and staff, non profits, and interested individuals to meet new and familiar EAC friends, hear about interesting EAC projects, and learn about initiatives and opportunities that can be replicated within one’s own municipality. The conference will feature a variety of resource tables with literature from local and regional organizations, a tour of SEPTA's Hybrid Bus, and the event's carbon footprint will be offset by Native Energy.

Note: We did our best to maintain the low cost of the conference as in previous years, however the cost to attend the conference this year has gone up slightly in order to cover our operating expenses.

BY CAR

From the Pennsylvania Turnpike

Exit at #343 (Willow Grove). Take Route 611 south for 5 miles (stay on route 611) into Jenkintown. At Greenwood Avenue (one light south of the light at West Avenue intersection), turn left for one block. Turn left again at light on Washington Lane. AFS is on your right.

From Center City

North on Route 611 (Broad Street). Just past 66th Street, Route 611 bears to the right. Stay on Route 611 for approximately 3 miles to light at Washington Lane. Turn right, continue through light at Greenwood Avenue. AFS is on your right.

From the Main Line

City Line Avenue to Lincoln Drive. Follow Drive through light at Wissahickon Avenue. Turn right at first light (Johnson Street). Follow Johnson to Chew Avenue. Turn right. Go to light and turn left onto Washington Lane. Continue on Washington Lane for approximately 3 miles into Jenkintown. Cross Old York Road and continue through light at Greenwood Avenue. AFS is on your right.

From the Blue Route

Blue Route (I-476) to PA Turnpike - NJ East. Take Exit 26 (Ft. Washington). Take 309 South to first traffic light - turn left onto Greenwood Avenue. Follow Greenwood over Jenkintown train station bridge - turn left at the light and make an immediate right to follow Greenwood. Continue across Route 611 (Old York Road). Turn left at Washington Lane. AFS is on your right.

BY BUS:

The 55 and 77 buses both stop within one block of AFS.

Depart Bus 55 at Old York Rd / PA-611 &West Avenue. Walk, about 5 minutes total, east along West Ave (will cross Cottman Street). Turn right at Vernon Road. Turn left at Washington Lane.

Depart Bus 77 at Greenwood Avenue & Washington Lane. Walk, about 4 minutes total, northwest on Greenwood Avenue. Turn right at the first intersection onto Washington Lane.

BY TRAIN:

Take Regional Rail Line R1, R2, R3 or R5 to the Jenkintown/Wyncote Station.

Please be aware when making travel arrangements - SEPTA indicates on its website that some schedules are being changed soon and often SEPTA does track work on weekends and substitutes shuttle busses.

Option #1: Walk - (7/10th of a mile) approximately 15 minutes walk or less than 10 minutes by bike

From the outbound (Jenkintown) side of the tracks, walk about 1/8 mile east on Greenwood Avenue. If you cross Glenside Avenue, you've gone in the wrong direction. Cross Old York Road (RT 611), and continue about 500 feet. Turn left at the light onto Washington Lane. Walk another 500 feet to the entrance of the school on the right.

Option #2: Bus - Approximately 15 minutes

*Please note: The SEPTA 77 bus does not stop in the train station; you must walk to the parking lot exit, and cross the Greenwood Avenue Bridge.*

Walk south on West Avenue to Township Line Road (crossing Greenwood Avenue). West Avenue becomes Township Line Road after crossing Summit Avenue. Board Bus 77 Chestnut Hill/Jenkintown to NE Phil. Depart bus at Greenwood Avenue & Washington Lane. Walk northwest on Greenwood Avenue. Turn right at the first intersection onto Washington Lane.

Option #3: Shuttle Van

A shuttle will run from the Jenkintown Train Station to AFS from 7:45 to 9:10 AM and again from 1:30 to 2:30 PM. If you choose to take the shuttle, please be aware of the limited service hours and check your train arrival / departure times. Each van holds up to 12 passengers. The trip takes approximately 10minutes each way.
