Joint letter to Governor and General Assembly asks for comprehensive assessment of existing and potential impacts of natural gas extraction on state forest lands.
The Pennsylvania Environmental Council, as well as the Pennsylvania Chapters of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and The Nature Conservancy, today called on Governor Rendell and the General Assembly to halt any consideration of additional leasing of state forest land for natural gas extraction until a comprehensive environmental and public use assessment is conducted.
