The Pennsylvania Environmental Council's collaborative mission includes supporting affiliated partnership efforts. PEC currently is a parent organization to the following initiatives:
Enterprising Environmental Solutions, Inc.
EESI is a public-private partnership that works to identify and implement best practices in environmental protection through the use of policy innovation, market-based solutions, and economic incentives. Its Center for Climate Strategies has supported state governments in developing and implementing innovative policy solutions to global warming.
Environmental Advisory Council Network
The EAC Network, a PEC project, works to establish and support Environmental Advisory Councils (EACs) across the state. EACs have three to seven community residents appointed by municipalities to advise and assist communities in protecting their local environment.
Greenspace Alliance, Inc.
The GreenSpace Alliance is a PEC project that seeks to protect vanishing open spaces in five Southeastern counties. The Alliance brings together its members, local government and non-profit organizations to promote open space for economic vitality, quality of life and the ecology
Pennsylvania Organization for Watersheds Rivers, Inc.
POWR is the newest program to affiliate with the Pennsylvania Environmental Council. POWR is a non-profit organization that fosters restoration and stewardship, encourages recreational use of our waterways and provides resources to watershed organizations. For instance, POWR has been a leader in promoting river sojourns and water-quality monitoring efforts throughout the state.
