Northwest

Diversity.  More species of fish and freshwater mussels than any other stream system in the Northeast, including over 15 that are endangered or threatened.  Over 380 species of birds.  Sixteen recognized “Important Bird Areas,” including Presque Isle State Park – one of the top ten bird-watching areas in North America.  The Pennsylvania Environmental Council has a special mission here.
